Mrs. Derryl H. Molina, Attorney at Law, practices Estate Planning, Elder Law, and General Practice in her offices at 1142 S. Winchester Blvd., Suite B, in San Jose, CA 95128.  She is also the Owner-Director of Personal PHOENIX Bar Preparation and has instructed scores of bar applicants in the skills needed to become a lawyer.

 

In her former career as a high school teacher and school principal, the graduate of Stanford University also taught in the Older Adult Program of West Valley-Mission College Community Colleges and Northwood University in West Palm Beach, FL.  She has worked with children and adults of all ages and is very people-oriented. 

 

As a result of having lived overseas, Peru, Ecuador, Chile, Indonesia, Jamaica, and Costa Rica -- for 15 years, Mrs. Molina not only speaks fluent Spanish, but she is sensitive to cultural differences.

 

After graduating from law school, Mrs. Molina worked with and was mentored by other attorneys in Elder Law, Trial Practice, Criminal Defense, Estate Planning and Litigation.  She has experience in drafting and reviewing trusts and contracts, filing forms and recording documents, researching all aspects of law, and writing pleadings, motions, orders, and writs of prohibition and habeas corpus.  She is a member of the Santa Clara County Bar Association, the Silicon Valley Bar Association, the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys, the National Elder Life Professionals Network, and the California State Bar Association.  She participates in monthly continuing education programs to update her knowledge of the current law and techniques.

 

In matters other than Trusts, Mrs. Molina offers an initial consultation for $350/hour, $125 of which is subtracted from the total of any services contracted with her office.  She charges flat fees for most work, so you know up front how much her help will cost you.  The regular flat fee for a single person trust is $3300 and $3500 for a two-person trust, including notarization.  The standard trust package includes the following documents: Revocable Living Trust, Pour-over Will(2), Durable Power of Attorney (2), Advance Health Care Directive (2), Certificate of Trust, and Schedule A.  Mrs. Molina gives hardship senior citizen discounts of 15% and a 50% discount for low-income clients with proof of income below the statutory poverty level.
